If your Sim or Sim’s loved one has died unexpectedly well it’s okay, there’s always a cure for that! In this guide you will learn how to resurrect in Sims 4.
There are several different ways to go about resurrecting your Sims and you can still socialize with the ghost while you keep busy and move them in. Just make sure to keep around the gravestone or urn, and never release them to the netherworld if you intend to resurrect them.
Here are all the ways you can resurrect a Sim in The Sims 4:
Resurrection by Ambrosia
You can resurrect a Sim by creating an Ambrosia, albeit you need a level 10 cooking skill and a lot of ingredients via gardening through grafting your plants, a book that needs to already be prepared and bound to the Sim which also requires level 10 writing, or to plead to the Grim Reaper to not take them. Pleading usually doesn’t work though and so you could give the Grim Reaper a death flower if you do not plead and it will be successful, after he’s done his business of course.
Ambrosia is a difficult but necessary process to bring back the dead as you need to first have a level 10 cooking skill, so get cooking and join The Upper Crusts while you’re at it. Next, graft a Pomegranate which just happens to be the tree of life and death, and an Orchid, the flower of love, beauty and, fertility (WooHoo!).
The grafting of these plants will get you a death flower which is 1/3 of the necessary ingredients for the Ambrosia. To get a Pomegranate you have to first graft an Apple and a Cherry. To get an Orchid you have to graft a Lily and a Snapdragon.
The second of three ingredients is the Angelfish which can now be found in many places other than just Willow Creek. The Angelfish can be found in:
- Oasis Springs
- Newcrest
- San Myshuno
- Forgotten Hollow
- Brindleton Bay
- Sulani Island
Finally, you will need a Potion of Youth which can be purchased in the Rewards Store for 1500 aspiration points. Combining these all together in the fridge can make Ambrosia for a ghost to eat and make themselves live again.
The Book of Life
The Book of Life can be tricky because in many cases it is too late before someone finds out about it and their Sim has already died. To accomplish this, you need a level 10 writing skill and the “Bestselling Author” aspiration. You then also have to have The Book of Life bound to the Sim before they die for it to work. You can only use The Book of Life one time only on one Sim. To bind the book to a Sim you have to put the book on a table and have a Sim walk up to it and “Capture Epic Saga”.
Whispering Wishing Well
Another option is to go to a whispering wishing well which is unlocked with the Romantic Garden Stuff with which a ghost can offer money. They can wish to be resurrected again and if negative, they will resurrect and die again. Depending on the simoleons granted depends on the chances of success as well as the face of the wishing well after the wish is granted.
The Whispering Wishing Well comes with the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack and can do a lot more than just resurrect your Sim. It can help with job performance, money, fertility, grades, etc. If you watch the face above the well, it will react to how it feels about what you’ve asked for. You can donate in tiers of 100, 1,000, or 5,000 simoleons. The more the better.
If you get a face that is hooded, chances are you are going to die or resurrect and die again. Children will not be harmed ever with negative effects, but their grades will be, but if you wish for a child then the negative effect would be that you now get a ghost child.
Cheat Codes
Unfortunately, there are no cheat codes to resurrect the dead, but you can add the Sim to your household to keep them around. They will path through walls as they are a ghost and the unfortunate thing is that while it may sound like a good idea, depending on how they died, depends on what happens around them. For example, if they died from a fire, then things may start to burn around them at times. So in this case, it may be better to befriend them and just have them visit every once in a while.
There are a few options to choose from so it’s time to get writing and cooking so that you have the means whenever the time strikes you are ready. Not only that but with Ambrosia, if you’re a spell caster (Game Pack: Realm of Magic) and you can use the spell “Copypasto” on it, it may make another for you. Very convenient indeed.
